Begin with the feeling you want to give.
Perhaps it's:
Delight.
Carefree pleasure.
Feeling known. Truly seen.
Indulged.
Listened to.
Soothed. Looked after.
Remembered.
One of a kind.
Nurtured.
Encouraged.
Excited.
Looking forward.
Connected to something bigger.
Invited in.
Nourished.
Ushered forward.
Loved.
What feeling does this moment call for?
Then, that feeling takes shape in an object, a gesture, an experience.
What you write in your card can explain how you made the connection.
As an example:
For her birthday, I want my friend to feel encouraged. She's embarking on a new challenge in her career. So I picked a beautiful notebook and an inspiring art print for her desk. In her card, I wrote about how much I support her, and how these gifts are for writing down ideas and to keep her connected to what inspires and fuels her.
I love giving gifts and am always here to help brainstorm the right gift for a given moment. Please reach out anytime to hello@paperfinger.com if you want some ideas or input.
